Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday, April 8

Boys lacrosse

Patterson Mill 20, Bo Manor 2: Drew Pape was a giver Monday night. Pape handed out nine assists while scoring two goals himself in the Huskies’ big win. Matt Bechtel led the scoring with five goals. He also had two assists. Rex Reynolds finished with three goals and one assist. Carson Gebhard also netted a hat trick. Samir Manning had three assists.

Fallston 7, Hereford 6: Jacob MacMillan scored off an assist from Gage McKenna in double overtime to lift the Cougars over the Bulls. Fallston trailed 6-2 at halftime. MacMillan finished with two goals and an assist. Ian Swartzendruber also scored two. Gage McKenna handed out two assists. Landon Mills made 14 saves.

Chesapeake 12, Wilde Lake 5: Nathan Wheeler scored four goals and assisted on two more in the Cougars’ win. Talan Behler backed him with three goals and three assists. Charlie Hall, Joke Forman and Chase Bivens all scored twice. Cade Shannon handed out two assists while Hunter Cappe made five saves in goal.

Severna Park 16, Marriotts Ridge 4: The visiting Falcons defeated the Mustangs led by six goals from Timmy Sullivan and five from John Burkhardt. Jack Fish also had a hat trick for Severna Park. For Marriotts Ridge, Mason Machiran had two goals and an assist while Ian Murphy made 15 saves.

Broadneck 8, Mt. Hebron 7: Braden McCassie scored the game-winner for the Bruins in a hard fought, double-overtime battle. Graham Hartman went 13-for-19 on faceoffs, while both Tyler Stewart and Tanner Boone each scored twice. For Mt. Hebron, Kyle Ratta had four goals while Luca LeClaire made 12 saves.

Crofton 10, Howard 4: Zack Gutierrez scored four goals to lift the Cardinals over the Lions. Tom Gress added three goals and John Gallizzo made 13 saves in goal.

South River 8, Glenelg 7: Trevor Phipps led his team with six goals in the narrow win. Ben Adams had a goal and an assist, while Danny Thibodeau also scored.

Centennial 11, Arundel 5: Cam Westlake had four goals and four assists for the Eagles.

Girls lacrosse

Loch Raven 18, Pikesville 5: The Raiders outscored the Panthers 10-0 over the second and third quarters. Molly Frey and Sarah Watkeys led a balanced offense each with four goals. Charlotte Gongon, Alli Henning and Grace Landry all had three goals. Watkeys collected 10 ground balls and won 13 draws, Landry caused three turnovers and goalie Rain Shinnick made four saves.

Eastern Tech 12, Sparrows Point 9: Jo Bruning made 14 saves as the Mavericks edged the Pointers. Olivia Norman and Abby Schwartz-Mitchell each scored three goals to lead Eastern Tech. Kylee Jones had two goals and an assist while Emily Reese had one goal and an assist.

Long Reach 18, Meade 2: Chiara Pompei guided the Lightning’s offense in a dominant win with six goals. Alaina Norton added four while Sam Legge had two goals and an assist.

River Hill 14, Southern 11: Gabby Bergstrom dominated with seven goals for the Hawks in the win. Katelyn Sauritch added a hat trick while Charlotte Laraway had a goal and an assist.

Northeast-AA 14, Oakland Mills 3: Taylor Chesnut scored twice for the Scorpions while Tanvi Rajagopal made nine saves.

Edgewood 11, Kenwood 7: Three Rams recorded hat tricks in the win. Mozella Robinson, Emmerson Whittington and Mallory Hax all netted three goals, with Robinson adding an assist. Amyriah Camp and Mo Rohner each finished with a goal and an assist.

Patterson Mill 18, Aberdeen 4: Riley Madsen led a balanced Huskies offense with four goals, while Maddie Tunney had a team-high seven points with three goals and four assists. Ava Lopano, Addison Harmel and Riley Crane also netted hat tricks.

Liberty 16, Walkersville 2: The Lions had assists and 14 of their 16 goals. Maddy Smith had a team-high seven points with two goals and five assists. Ten Lions scored in the win with Kourtney Goff, Annika Wray, Jordyn Ott, Sophia Carpenetti and Emily Spampinato all scoring two goals. Wray and Carpenetti each had three assists.

Softball

Liberty 14, Winters Mill 3: Allison Bald had two hits and drove in four runs to lead the Lions over the Falcons. Also for Liberty, Leyla Hoffman went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Kaelin Ault tripled and drove in two, and Evelyn Connor also drove in two runs.

Manchester Valley 6, Westminster 0: Mavericks pitcher Hailey Facchine faced 26 batters and struck out 17 of them. She threw a two-hit shutout as Manchester Valley (5-1) won its fourth straight. Offensively, Grace Wood had two hits and three RBIs. Kasey Thomas had a hit and two RBIs. Ashlee Hipsley had two hits and one RBI.

Perry Hall 4, Dulaney 1: The Gators move to 3-0. Amelia Kitchen threw a four-hitter allowing one unearned run while striking out eight. Offensively, Madison Carl tripled, singled twice and drove in a run. Kamryn D’Amico, A Lewis and Shalimar Lopez also drove in runs.

Carver A&T 9, Sparrows Point 8: Mia McGarvey had three hits, including a triple and a double, while driving in five runs to lead the Wildcats. Haleigh Frye had two hits, three runs scored and an RBI. Maya Einolf had three hits and an RBI.

Hereford 10, Parkville 4: The Bulls put up five runs in the top of the first and never looked back. Ellie Lysse, Taylor Roberts, Alyssa McCaffery, Ryleigh Collins and Katrina Belardi also drove in runs, with Roberts finishing with two hits.

Reservoir 15, Atholton 2: Abbie Frisvold dominated in the circle striking out nine in 4 ⅔ no-hit innings. Both Cambell Sagin and Catherine Yourishin had three hits to lead the offense. Sagin had a pair of doubles while Yourishin tripled.

Marriotts Ridge 10, Howard 1: Giuliana Marsili led the Mustangs in the win, finishing 4-for-4 with a team-high three RBIs. Gianna Peluso and Sienna Williams each added two RBIs. Olivia Ober picked up the win, striking out six in five innings.

Havre de Grace 10, North Harford 3: Lilly Dalton had two hits and three RBIs to lead a strong offensive day for the Warriors. Sarah Weitzel went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs in the win. Also, Ashley Kovacsics homered, Bayleigh Carstetter doubled twice and drove in a run, and Kinsey Mentzer had an RBI.

Harford Tech 3, Bel Air 0: Abby Reed threw a three-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts to lead the Cobras past the Bobcats. She outdueled Bel Air’s S Gallahue who threw a five-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Offensively for Tech, Violet Mulieri and Katie Burr had RBIs.

Baseball

Fallston 1, Patterson Mill 0: Aidan Deck’s double in the bottom of the seventh was Fallston’s first hit of the game, and also made the Cougars a walk-off winner. Paul Kvech threw seven innings of four-hit ball to earn the win on the mound. He struck out eight. Michael Hemelt threw 5 ⅔ no-hit innings for Patterson Mill, also striking out eight.

Harford Tech 8, Perryville 0: CJ Scism no-hit the Panthers, allowing only two walks while striking out 13. Offensively for the Cobras (5-1), Max Swart was 2-for-2 with two walks, two stolen bases, three runs scored and two RBIs. Scism and Zach Lane also drove in runs.

River Hill 2, Mt. Hebron 0: The Hawks outlasted the Vikings in a pitchers duel. Henry Zatkowski pitched five shutout innings for River Hill and struck out nine, while Jake Miller and Thomas Jayne pitched scoreless innings in relieg. Jonathan Bloom had both of the Hawks RBIs. For Mt. Hebron, Will Cucuzella pitched six innings while Mike Brogno had the lone hit.

Marriotts Ridge 7, Howard 6: Barry Romero earned the win for the Mustangs pitching five innings and allowing one earned run, also with two hits. Luke Galloway highlighted the offense with a three-run home run, while Anthony Angarita added three hits and an RBI. Sid Thomas also had two hits and an RBI.

Hammond 4, Wilde Lake 3: Jackson Wilder had the key hit, a two-RBI single in the sixth inning for the Golden Bears in a come-from-behind win. Wilder also picked up the save as Yaxiel Rivera earned the win.

Manchester Valley 6, Westminster 3: Gene Magin singled home a run in the top of the fifth to break a tie game. Magin threw six innings, allowing four hits and striking out 10. Magin and Luke Christman each had two hits and two RBIs on the day. Nick LoPreato and Liam Ziegenfuss also drove in runs.

Chesapeake 10, Old Mill 9: Sean Carroll ripped the walk-off hit that scored Lucas Slayton all the way from first. Carroll and Slayton each had three hits on the day. Cole Parsons, Carter Drab and Dylan Adams added two hits apiece.

Carver A&T 3, Overlea 1: Sophomore Trevor Schnirel was dominant pitching as he rang up 11 strikeouts in the complete-game effort. Sophomore Mason Seabolt had an RBI single. Junior Landen Gendimenico and sophomore Magnus Mumford each collected one hit and one run each.

Hereford 6, Eastern Tech 1: A four-run third inning powered the Bulls past the Mavericks. Andrew Larkin threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts. Ryan Larkin, Leighton Alsip and Willie DeSantis all drove in runs.

Coed tennis

Fallston 10, Aberdeen 1: The Cougars girls didn’t lose a set to lead the win. Juliana Kovalets, Lindsey Dettlott and Gwen Karatonis won girls singles matches. Kasey Resh and Ashley Tran, and Skylar Brown and Ava Meyer won in doubles. On the boys side, Gordon Lefkowitz and Edison Liu had singles wins. Ryan Blair and Colby Resh swept first doubles 6-0, 6-0 while Zach Boczar and Luca Cangelosi also won. Max Rueckert and Courtney Robinson won mixed doubles in a third-set tiebreaker.

C. Milton Wright 6, North East 5: Tierney Wagner won a three-set tiebreaker that proved to be the deciding point in the Mustangs’ match win. Brandon Flynn, Garrett Braun and Gabe Greathouse won boys singles matches. Teams of Teddy Casem and Tommy Gunter, and Maddie Greathouse and Isabelle Goldberg won in doubles play.

Broadneck 9, Old Mill 0: The Bruins got singles wins from Viktor Lundback, Eliot Martin, Olivia Mellynchuk and Natalie Hosie. Doubles wins came from the teams of Ryan Sar and Koa Hamilton, Ben Cukor and Demetrius Greene, Gigi Garner and Hadley Crooks, Rachel Cruz and Kate Pierce, and Charlie Ernst and Anissa Jean-Claude.

Rising Sun 6, North Harford 5: The Hawks’ girls swept singles play as Emma Clayton, Stella Manns and Arie Howell all earned wins. Jzaleilah Barroquillo and Jenna Roh won in doubles play. Logan Harrity won the top boys singles match for North Harford.

Hereford 9, Eastern Tech 0: The Bulls only dropped two total sets while sweeping the Mavericks. Singles wins came from Nadav Weisberg, Will Cogan, Julia Carrese and Ivanka Charchalis. Doubles teams earning wins were Richard Wang and Henry Bishop, Lukas Everett and Matt Nawrocki, Anna Kurtz and Serena Pallan, Kiana Eshaghi and Gabbie Chernoff, and Blakeley Auvil and Della Chernoff.

Boys tennis

Marriotts Ridge 5, Howard 0: Mukundh Boopathi and Rafa Feldman won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the Mustangs. The doubles pairings of Tyler Wang and Jerry He, Felipe Arantes Gabriel and Tobi Ijiyemi and Sam Lim and Alex Xiang won.

Liberty 5, Winters Mill 0: The Lions swept the Falcons to move to 3-0, 2-0 in county. Nikhil Andhavarapu and Louis Major won singles matches. Doubles teams picking up wins were Arjun Mistry and Hayden Speace, Austin Shade and Jason Murphy, and Chase King and Jayden Venable.

Westminster 5, Manchester Valley 0: The Owls picked up the sweep with Michael Pohuski and August Jones earning singles wins. Michael Fronheiser and Jaron Hawes, Aidan Cignatta and Abbott Houle, and Nishal Patel and Brendan Norfolk picked up doubles wins.

Francis Scott Key 3, Century 2: The Knights got singles wins from Nolan Mailot and Kaushik Inguva, but the Eagles swept doubles play to earn the team victory. Robbie Dougherty and Joel Wantz, Evan Myers and Nathan Myers, and Carter Button and Josh Wunder were victorious teams.

Girls tennis

Marriotts Ridge 3, Howard 2: Stella Lee won in No. 1 singles for the Mustangs. Vin Badugu and Christina Ottman and Haeli Shah and Maria Ottman won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. For Howard, Pamela Shapiro won at No. 2 singles while Danielle Veihmeyer and Varsha Kantheti won at No. 3 doubles.

Century 3, Francis Scott Key 2: Bella Filippi won the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0, and the Knights picked up two doubles wins to earn the team victory. Addison Mahoney and Olivia Kennedy, and Gabby Poulose and Anna Wu won in doubles.

Liberty 4, Winters Mill 1: Grace Maerten won the top singles match for the Lions and the team swept doubles play to earn the victory. Doubles wins came from Amelia Mustico and Payton Oakley, Mia Leon Hartt and Mallory Stevenson, and Abigail Zentner and Aubrey Anderson. Winters Mill’s Leah Benfer won second singles.

Manchester Valley 3, Westminster 2: Emily McElwaine earned a second singles win and the Mavericks picked up two doubles wins to earn the match victory. Talula Castanzo and Madison MacGregor, and Tori Kelley and Olivia Watts were doubles winners. Westminster’s Daphnee Whitmore dropped just one game to win No. 1 singles, and Megan McCampbell and Kelsey Boehm won third doubles.
