Baseball
Perry Hall 4, Parkville 3: RBI singles from Jake Benner and AJ Mendoza in the bottom of the sixth lifted the Gators over the Knights in the Class 4A North Region I final. Mendoza pitched the final four innings, holding Parkville to just one hit and no runs. Travon Robinso also had an RBI hit in the win.
Hereford 19, New Town 0: The Bulls couldn’t have scripted a better start, scoring five runs in the top of the first, but they followed it up with eight runs in the second and cruised to the regional championship. Jett Steller and Shaun Verderaime each had a hit and two RBIs in the win. On the mound, three pitchers combined on a two-hitter with Ryan Larkin recording the win.
Stephen Decatur 4, Severna Park 3: The Falcons’ season ended in the eighth inning of the Class 3A East Region I finals off an RBI single by Seahawks’ Eric Braica.
