Boys soccer
Eastern Tech 3, Franklin 0: Dylan Dunn scored each Mavericks goal in the win. In net, Anthony Baca-Fuentes and Oskar Lyp combined on the clean sheet.
Century 3, Sparrows Point 1: The Knights handed the Pointers their first loss of the season. Century used a balanced offense to get the win. Braden Davis, Nick McGhin and Tyler Ruch scored goals with Justin Asiedu, Jackson Barioto and Steven Orsoto providing assists.
Gerstell 1, Towson 1: The Falcons and Generals played to a draw. Gerstell’s goal came from Justin Rudo, his fourth of the year, assisted by Davis Quenzer. In goal, Preston Harris made seven saves.
Westminster 1, Perry Hall 1: The teams exchanged goals in the first half and the defenses made the score hold. Westminster’s Ashton Gifford scored five minutes into the game off a header from a feed from Jarom Hawes. Colin Messier had seven saves for the Owls (1-1-1).
Havre de Grace 3, Edgewood 2: After a scoreless first half, the Warriors scored three straight goals to open the second before Edgewood battled back. Andres Amaya scored for the Rams, converting a Sebastian Ayala corner kick. Aneikan Wellington later added the second Edgewood goal.
Broadneck 6, Severn Run 0: The Bruins got goals from Braeden Kelly, Quinto Barrett, TJ Remson, Jed Meehan (one assist), Will Epley (one assist) and Ryan Ball. Wilson Banwell contributed an assist. Dalton Bashore made two saves and Joe Brenner made three for Broadneck.
Annapolis 2, Northeast 0: Oliwier Pietrowski broke a scoreless tie in the second half, netting a goal on a direct free kick. A corner struck by Kevin Amaya found its way into the net for the second goal. Oskar Pietrowski made five saves in goal for the Panthers (2-1).
Chesapeake-AA 2, Crofton 1: Caleb Ritter had a goal and an assist and the visiting Cougars (4-0) beat the Cardinals. Colton Keeter scored the game-winner.
Old Mill 2, Glen Burnie 1: The visiting Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the first half and beat the Gophers. Brayden Morgan scored for Glen Burnie, assisted by Ethan Permut
Liberty 5, Frederick 0: Lucas Britos netted two goals and assisted on a third to lead the Lions’ win. Connor Clapper and Nate Frey each contributed a goal and an assists. Hamza Kahn also scored and Austen Veach handed out two assists.
Girls soccer
Winters Mill 8, Catoctin 0: The Falcons (4-0) earned their second nonconference shutout win in as many nights. Hannah Neske led the win her second hat trick of the season. Addison Lohr backed her with two goals. Maddie Milam, Leah Benfer and Natalie Furr also scored in the win.
Westminster 2, Perry Hall 1: The Owls earned a hard-fought nonconference win with Emmerson Hill and Jennifer Vasquez netting goals. Assists came from Riley Taylor and Mikayla Britz. Clara Kemp and Andi Zaslow split time in goal and each picked up three saves.
Harford Tech 1, North Harford 0: Scoreless into the second half, the Cobras finally broke the stalemate when Riley Mullenax fed Abby Downes for what stood as the game’s only goal. Emily Swenson made seven saves in goal to earn the shutout. Savannah Picha finished with five saves for the Hawks.
Fallston 2, Patterson Mill 1: The Cougars held off a challenge from the Huskies thanks to goals from Sarah Farally and Rachel Harding. Hayden Mills assisted both goals. For Patterson Mill, Eliza Lyman scored on a penalty kick. Ella Shriner made 10 saves in goal.
Elkton 6, Edgewood 2: The Rams got goals from Skylar Gaddy and Lily Annunziato, and strong goalkeeping from Emma Sewell despite the loss.
Western Tech 6, Patapsco 3: The Wolverines broke a 2-2 tie with four straight goals en route to the win. Western Tech featured six different goal scorers: Nicole Camacho, Ava Dembeck, Alana Clark, Ellie Matulich, Suzie Metcalf and Farah Nunley. Metcalf had two assists, while Dembeck and Selene Gomez each had one. Emily Taylorson scored all three Patapsco goals.
Howard 5, Atholton 1: The Lions (3-0) continued their strong start to the season, led by a prolific offense. Noelle Hall led with two goals, while Brynn Bartlett, Sydney Rhodes and Sadie Smith also scored. Smith, Katy Armor and Kelsey Kartanowicz each had an assist. For Atholton (2-1-1), Ioana Kostova scored.
Reservoir 6, Oakland Mills 2: The Gators earned their first win of the year. Jamison Smith scored a hat trick, while Giada Monti keyed the offense with three assists. Madison Okechukwu, Amelia Bachman and Kayri Escobar also scored for Reservoir.
River Hill 2, Long Reach 0: The Hawks (4-0-1) defeated the Lightning on the road.
Arundel 3, North County 1: Kaelyn Jackson and Jessica Gotshall each had a goal and an assist to lead the host Wildcats over the Knights. Katie Mutziger also added a goal to the win. Riley Sheets scored for North County.
Field hockey
Manchester Valley 6, Dulaney 0: Amanda Herrold’s hat trick helped push the Mavericks to 3-0. Allie Largent had a goal and an assist in the win, while Faith Urbach and Lexi Gilberto also scored. Carolyn Lowe, Barb Guest and Lily Brookhart had assists.
Centennial 3, Wilde Lake 0: The Eagles (3-0) pitched their third straight shutout to start the season. Caroline Cudzilo led the offense with two goals, while Claire Whipkey also scored. Annabel Arrington, Ava Rudy and Milana Shimer each finished with an assist.
C. Milton Wright 0, Mercy 0: Neither team was able to get one past the other’s goalie. C. Milton Wright’s Phoebe Hennessey made 32 saves to anchor her team’s defense.
North County 7, Glen Burnie 0: Roxy Stephenson had a hat trick and Katie Von Berg and Addy Jun each scored twice and the host Knights shut out the Gophers. Sydney Green made 19 saves for Glen Burnie.
Broadneck 4, Chesapeake-AA 0: Katelyn Kearns scored all four goals to lead the visiting Bruins over the Cougars. Broadneck will host Southern on Thursday.
Severna Park 1, South River 0 (OT): Ava Zimmerman netted the game-winner off a rebound. Emma Weber made three defensive saves.
Arundel 3, Old Mill 2: In the loss, Delana Fastner and Tori Martz had goals for the Patriots.
Volleyball
C. Milton Wright 3, Bohemia Manor 2: The Mustangs survived a five-set nail-biter, 25-10, 26-24, 14-25, 20-25, 16-14. Ana Mioduski put down 10 kills to lead CMW and Olivia Kobb was right behind her with nine. Jenna Ritz tossed up 17 assists.
Crofton 3, Glen Burnie 0: The Cardinals cruised to the win, 25-6, 25-10, 25-13. Addison Matsui had seven kills and three blocks. Miley Keyes and Jordan Alexander each lined six kills. Olivia Pritchard had 10 assists, four digs and two aces.
Perryville 3, Aberdeen 1: The Panthers won, 25-13, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22. Peyton Simon finished with a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs. Kyla Andrews tossed up 15 assists and Julianna Reffitt added 10 to go with nine digs. Brianna Bowman led the defense with 17 digs.
Bel Air 3, Rising Sun 0: The Bobcats (3-0) earned another sweep, 25-21, 27-25, 25-18. Anna Kane put down 11 kills to lead the win. Aubrie Faulkner added six. Emma Duvall had 30 assists and three aces.
Edgewood 3, Elkton 0: The Rams won 25-19, 25-15, 25-15. Sofia Ortiz had nine aces and eight assists in the win. Mo Rohner and Zyianna Rowlette each had four kills with Rowlette adding four aces. Peyton Parise had 10 digs.
Patterson Mill 3, Fallston 0: The Huskies got a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs in a 25-8, 25-14, 25-14 sweep of Fallston. Samiyah Hubbard had nine kills and two blocks. Zoe Valan had 23 assists, three aces and seven digs. Anna Elliott chipped in four kills, three blocks and two aces. Sam Ruth had eight assists and eight digs for Fallston.
Annapolis 3, North County 0: The Panthers move to 2-1 with the 25-13, 25-20, 25-16 win. McHale Hughes had 10 aces and eight assists. Christen Brisbane and Caolin Heyder each had six kills.
South River 3, Severn Run 0: The host Seahawks beat the Wolves, 25-13, 25-17, 25-10. Megyn Kelly had 19 assists, four aces and 12 digs. Hannah Takacs had seven kills and 10 digs for South River.
Century 3, Winters Mill 1: After dropping the first set, the Knights rallied back to win, 14-25, 25-18, 25-20 25-20. Hannah Heffernan led with 10 kills. Abhi Yadlapalli was right behind her with nine and Gabby Zajaczkowski chipped in six to go with five aces. Reese Gordon and Stephanie Villanueva each tossed up 13 assists. Corinne Zepp had 22 digs and four aces.
Liberty 3, Francis Scott Key 0: The Lions picked up their first win of the season, 25-15, 25-14, 25-10. Emme Powers had 11 kills and six digs to lead the win. Crystal Awunganyi backed her with nine kills, four aces and two blocks. Lily Baker had five digs and four aces and served the first 15 points of the third set. Paige Rubin added 18 assists and two aces.
Marriotts Ridge 3, Mt. Hebron 0: The Mustangs (2-2) swept the Vikings 25-19, 25-19, 25-23. Anoushka Rath excelled at the service line with five aces, while Grace Lei had four aces and 16 digs. Katy Harbugh keyed the attack with 13 kills, while Eva Hull was all over the court with 23 assists, seven digs, four kills and two aces.
Long Reach 3, River Hill 2: The Lightning (1-1) earned the come-from-behind win after dropping the opening two sets, defeating River Hill for the first time in program history. Brooke Gordon, Azana Saheed and Addy Van Oosten were each critical in the third set. Delaney Strawhorn was key in the fourth set as Long Reach came from behind to win the fifth set 15-9.
Howard 3, Atholton 0: The visiting Lions beat the Raiders, 26-24, 25-22, 25-22. Howard was led by Mariska Ordonez (15 kills), Miranda Ball (16 digs, 2 aces), Imagine Peltier (28 assists, 5 digs), Kaleigh Williams (4 kills, 3 aces, 7 digs) and Jojo Vassor (7 digs 2 aces).
Golf
Manchester Valley 153, Century 178: At Links at Challedon, Matt Slivosky shot an even-par 36 to earn medalist honors for the Mavericks. Gavin Reid posted a 37 and Michael Hoy carded a 39. Aaron Kim topped Century with a 41.
Hammond boys 67, Wilde Lake 28: John Louie scored a personal-best 21 points for the Golden Bears in the win, while Mason Walls chipped in 19. For Wilde Lake, Antonio Hardy finished with 16.
Wilde Lake girls 25, Hammond 5: Jane Mhonda shined for the Wildecats in the win, scoring 25 points, her second highest total of the season.
River Hill boys 85, Mt. Hebron 69: Mark Berg and Justin Choi led the way for the undefeated Hawks each with 24 points. For Mt. Hebron, Grady Kent scored a match-high of 25.
River Hill girls 56, Mt. Hebron 3: Freshman Michelle Yeung shined for the Hawks in a dominant win with 26 points, while Gina Dhaliwal added 21.
