Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Girls soccer

Hereford 1, St. Paul’s 0: Bella DeSantis converted a pass from Sophia Rongione for the game’s only goal for the Bulls. CJ Harvey made five saves to earn a clean sheet.

Carver A&T 6, Kenwood 2: Lia Rock scored four goals to lift the Wildcats to the win. Advaithe Gante added two goals.

Long Reach 9, Hammond 0: Katie Hoffman scored four goals in the win, while Haley Ruddy added a hat trick. Alaina Norton and Naomi Islam also scored. Caitlin Ruddy earned the clean sheet in goal.

Rising Sun 3, Patterson Mill 2: The Huskies fell to the Tigers in overtime. Josie Baldwin had both Patterson Mill goals and Maddy Ruby had an assist. Ella Shriner made six saves.

C. Milton Wright 3, Harford Tech 1: Abby Downes knocked in a rebound after Laney Weaver’s shot hit the post for an early Cobras lead, but the Mustangs stormed back for the win, scoring two goals in the first seven minutes of the second half. Lily Budelis, Victoria Mendez and Blake Elliott all scored in the win. Delainey Proctor and Mendez had assists. Emily Swenson made nine saves for Harford Tech.

Bel Air 1, North Harford 0: Ally Mace scored off a Savannah Barry assist for the game’s only goal. Emmy Schiller made it stand up with five saves in goal. North Harford keeper Savannah Picha made six saves.

Howard 4, Wilde Lake 0: Howard (5-0) continued to roll to start the season, scoring at least four goals for the fourth time. Brynn Bartlett scored twice, while Sydney Rhodes and Olivia Butt also netted goals. Londyn Minor, Katy Armour and Noelle Hall had assists.

Marriotts Ridge 2, Centennial 0: Marriotts Ridge (4-2) won its third game in a row with goals by Morayo Omitowoju and Shania Chan. Kate Riismandel also finished with an assist.

Atholton 4, Oakland Mills 0: Atholton (4-1-1) won its second game in a row as Denive Guy-Williams scored twice and added an assist. Kaila Ibrahim and Michelle Curran also scored, while Chloe Coughlan had an assist.

Crofton 1, South River 0: Addison Cox-Franklin netted the lone goal in the first 10 minutes. In the loss, Arianna Bodycomb registered 10 saves for the Seahawks.

Liberty 2, Westminster 2: Regulation and two overtimes couldn’t solve things between the Lions and Owls. Westminster got a goal and an assist from Jennifer Vasquez. Emily Orton also scored and Sharina Jassir had an assist. For Liberty, Hannah DeVincent had a goal and an assist. Sophia Macijewski added a goal and Aver Asom chipped in an assist.

Gerstell 2, Annapolis Area Christian School 1: Justin Rudo had a goal and an assist in the Faclons’ win. Gavin Larson scored the other Gerstell goal and Malcom Hoar had an assist. Preston Harris made eight saves in goal.

Century 6, South Carroll 1: Nick McGhin netted a hat trick as the Knights routed their neighboring rival Cavaliers. Braden Davis, Brayden Laposky and Justin Asiedu also scored. Pantelis Primikirios sent off two assists. Tyler Ruch, Jackson Barioto, Ryan Bauer and Hunter Greenwade also had helpers.

Liberty 5, Westminster 1: The Lions’ one-two punch of Lucas Britos and Austen Veach once again led the offensive attack. Britos finished with three goals and Veach two, with each adding an assist. Connor Clapper and Ryan Clapper also contributed assists. In goal, Arjun Singh made four saves.

St. Mary’s 3, Saints Peter and Paul 0: The Saints used a balanced offense in the win with Charlie Roy, Landon Ross and Ernesto Contreras scoring the goals. Ross, JD Licameli and Than Souza provided assists.

South River 2, Crofton 0: South River (4-2-1) scored twice in the second half to earn the road win. Kamil Niwa had a goal and an assist in the win. Daniel Rodriguez had a goal and Lucas Cerulla had an assist. Ian Wallace made four saves in the shutout.

Severna Park 4, Broadneck 1: Aiden Min had two goals and Garrett Moden finished with a goal and an assist as the Falcons topped the Bruins. Stephen Bacho also scored in the win. Will Epley scored for Broadneck.

Annapolis 2, North County 1: Kevin Amaya scored with two minutes left in double overtime off an assist from Alejandro Pena to lift the Panthers (3-1-1) to the win. Gabe Cantarero also scored in the win with Olivier Pietrowski getting an assist. Oskar Pietrowski made seven saves in the win.

Northeast 3, Old Mill 0: The Eagles’ goals were scored by Kaiden Janiak, Joey Kazmierski and Shane Shriver. Tyler Bodine contributed an assist.

C. Milton Wright 8, New Town 1: Charie Kitz scored twice and six other Mustangs hit the net in the big win. Liam Bender, Brody Walter, Ryan Schuh, Owen Davis, Kai Cempura and Ben Mroz all scored. Tommy Gunter had two assists.

Eastern Tech 2, Catonsville 0: Oskar Lyp made seven saves to earn his second clean sheet of the season for the Mavericks. Dylan Dunn and Jake Locklear each scored, the fourth goal of the season for each.

Pikesville 8, Milford Mill 0: Hamin Oladokun recorded his second hat trick of the season and added an assist as the Panthers rolled past the Millers. Ablanter Fesseha added two goals in the win. Sam Abrams, Mark Poberesky and Bryan Machado also scored. Machado and Sam Leckner each finished with three assists. Jackson Matz also had an assist.

Wilde Lake 1, Howard 0: Wilde Lake (3-2-1) earned a big win defeating previously-undefeated Howard as Drew Hollida scored the lone goal off an assist from Evan Figueroa on a free kick. Eric Taylor made five saves for the clean sheet.

No. 1 Broadneck field hockey earns 1-0 victory over Severna Park after final-minute ‘mess’

Franklin 6, Perry Hall 3: In the loss, Sophie Blevins scored all three of the Gators’ goals. Rae Sparzak made 11 saves in goal.

South Carroll 2, Century 1: Alayna Enoff scored the Cavaliers’ first goal, then assisted on the second, scored by Rowan Miller. Megan Maynard also provided an assist. Caelin Lopes made 12 saves in goal. Bella Garcia scored for Century off an Isabella Filippi assist.

Manchester Valley 12, Winters Mill 0: Sophie Baer had two goals and two assists to lead the Mavericks’ onslaught. Amanda Herrold had a hat trick in the win. Georgia Wurzburger added two goas. Taylor Fique, Allie Largent, Aly Zour, Shelby Wurzburger and Barb Guest also scored. Lily Brookhart led with three assists.

Chesapeake 5, Arundel 1: Brynn Vickery had a goal and two assists to lead the Cougars. Maisie Wukitch and Emersen Miller each finished with a goal and an assist. Savannah Weaver and Meredith Miller also had goals.

Southern 3, Annapolis 2: Amber Johnson (one assist), Mackenzie Nutwell and Kaylee DuCellier all scored goals for the Bulldogs. Grace Legacy added an assist. CeCe Burke and Grace Adams had goals for Annapolis. Rylee Catterton had seven saves for Southern.

Reservoir 2, Old Mill 1: Reservoir (3-2) moved back over .500 as Claire Kimnach scored both goals in the win, while Sandra Salkini dished out an assist. Cambell Sagin saved a penalty stroke with no time remaining to preserve the win.

Flag football

Western 22, Carver Vo-Tech 12: Western improves to 4-0 as Michaela Hammonds passed for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Jaden Hunt caught three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Taleyah Bailey had two catches for 85 yards and a touchdown. Makayla Alexander rushed in a touchdown. Hunt led the defense with six flag pulls.

Volleyball

Edgewood 3, Harford Tech 2: Edgewood won a five-set thriller, 21-25, 25-16, 25-15, 21-25, 15-9. Sofia Ortiz had 10 aces and 10 assists to lead the win. Lisette Alijah had four kills and three blocks, Samarra Brodbeck had five kills and three aces, and Zyiana Rowlette added five kills.

Bel Air 3, Fallston 0: The Bobcats cruised 25-4, 25-14, 25-9. Anna Kane’s five kills and seven aces led the win. Annalise Lewis chipped in five kills. Emma Duvall finished with 28 assists and five aces.

Patterson Mill 3, C. Milton Wright 2: The Huskies rallied from two set down to win a nail-biter, 17-25, 14-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-12. Samiyah Hubbard’s 14 kills led Patterson Mill. She also picked up seven digs. Zoe Valan had 38 assists and 12 digs, Angela Kim had 36 digs and Anna Elliott chipped in seven kills. For CMW, Anna Mioduski totaled 13 kills and 11 digs. Olivia Kobb added nine kills and seven digs. Maddie Duffalo had seven kills and five aces and Jenna Ritz tossed up 23 assists.

Howard 3, Wilde Lake 0: Howard (5-0) extended its undefeated start to the season with a dominant 25-9, 25-8, 25-7 win. Jackie Klugh led the attack with eight kills, while both Dylann Loggins and McKenna Brown added seven. Imagine Peltier had 17 assists and six kills, while Miranda Ball had eight digs. Allison Su set up the offense with 13 assists.

Centennial 3, Marriotts Ridge 0: The Eagles (4-2) won their fourth match in a row taking down the Mustangs 25-21, 25-23, 25-15. For Marriotts Ridge (2-4), Katy Harbaugh had nine kills, while Grace Lei (17 digs), Audrey Lee (14 digs) and Eva Hull (11 digs) were each big defensively.

Arundel 3, Broadneck 2: The Wildcats upset their rival Bruins despite falling behind by two sets, 25-22, 22-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-12. In the loss, Kennedy Smith led with 14 kills and Sydney Lawrence had six kills, two aces, 23 digs and 22 assists. Anna Graves made 11 kills and nine digs, while Addison Sladky had nine kills and two blocks.

Crofton 3, South River 0: The Cardinals swept the Seahawks, 25-19, 27-25, 25-19. Miley Keyes made 10 kills and two blocks, while Jordin Alexander had eight kills. Victoria Ndubueze had five kills and three blocks while Olivia Pritchard collected 15 assists and seven digs.

Annapolis 3, Southern 0: The Panthers (4-1) swept the Bulldogs 25-13, 25-12, 25-16. Sophia Canuel had seven kills and McHale Hughes had 11 assists. Christen Brisbane had seven kills and Lindsay Layman had the same.

Manchester Valley 3, Century 1: The Mavericks topped the Knights, 25-21, 25-16, 13-25, 25-18. Emma Shaffer and Emily Troy each contributed double-doubles to the win. Shaffer had 14 kills and 15 digs, while Emily Troy had 13 kills and 11 digs to go with six aces. Carly Figueira tossed up 39 assists and Emily Xiong picked up 11 digs. Stephanie Villanueva had nine assists and five aces for Century. Gabby Zajaczkowski led with six kills to go with four aces. Corinne Zepp had 11 digs and four aces.

South Carroll 3, Winters Mill 0: The Cavaliers swept the Falcons, 25-11, 25-19, 25-16.

Golf

Hammond boys 61, Guilford Park 34: The Golden Bears boys won the Iron Skillet over the Panthers as Mason Walls scored a team-high 20 points. John Louie added 18 in the win.

Guilford Park boys 34, Oakland Mills 0: Both Ronin Holmes and Eamon Bloechl finished with 10 points in the Panthers victory.

Oakland Mills girls 12, Guilford Park 11: The Scorpions girls won the Iron Skillet over the Panthers and Golden Bears. Lucy Lumen spearheaded the win with 10 points, while Makayla An had eight points for Guilford Park.

Guilford Park girls 11, Hammond 5: Makayla An led the way for the Panthers in the win over the Golden Bears.

Long Reach boys 73, Glenelg 54: The Lightning had three 20-plus point scorers in the win over the Gladiators. Russell Calkins (22) led the way while both Ethan Rothman and Elliott Austraw added 20. For Glenelg, Drew Hanna had 17, while Clark Sharbaugh had 16.

Glenelg girls 39, Long Reach 3: Samadhi Tennakoon led Glenelg to a commanding win with 21 points.

River Hill boys 71, Centennial 66: The Hawks narrowly edged the Eagles in a tight affair as Keagan Graves had a match-best 24 points. Freshman Justin Zhao put up 21 points for River Hill. For Centennial, Brady Harris had 20.

River Hill girls 45, Centennial 7: Evelyn Park shined in the win with a match best 26 points, while Sydney Lynott added 14.
