Baltimore is set to host Kansas City in the best-of-three, first-round series after finishing the regular season with a 91-71 record. The Orioles finished second to the New York Yankees in the American League East but clinched the No. 4 seed, ensuring they would have home-field advantage for the wild-card round.

This series marks the first time the Orioles have reached the playoffs as a wild-card team since 2016 when they lost in the previous format of a win-or-go-home game against the Toronto Blue Jays. It’s the third time in franchise history they’ve been a wild card.
