Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday, Sept. 30.

Girls soccer

South Carroll 2, Gerstell 1: Mia Talley sent a pass to Marissa Ossinger that she put into the net with 15 minutes left, giving the Cavaliers the win over the Falcons. Ella Boyce scored South Carroll’s other goal off an assist from Jess Lester. Sydney Mossman made five saves in the win.

Boys soccer

Edgewood 2, Bohemia Manor 1: The Rams put up two first half goals, the first coming with Nayo Matthews paying off a strong passing sequence with a goal. Dontai Collins extended the lead off an assist from Marken Mensah. Bo Manor got on the board 16 minutes into the second half, but the Rams defense held the rest of the way.

Patterson Mill 7, Aberdeen 0: Caleb Zerbe had two goals and Reza Mousavi had a goal and two assists to lead the Huskies’ offense. Mason Teter made three saves in goal to earn the shutout. Grayson McLaughlin, Jackson Burkie, David Kim and Joey Sauer all added goals. Burke, Kim, Finn Pantazelos and Phil Tolliver all had assists.

Harford Tech 4, C. Milton Wright 2: The Mustangs in the loss got goals from Lucas Barker and Axel Lorentzen.

Bel Air 2, North Harford 1: The Bobcats edged out the Hawks behind goals from Christian Sherman and Mason Smedley. Galen Klisiewecz assisted on both Bel Air goals.

Perry Hall 1, Sparrows Point 0: Scoreless into the final minute of the first overtime Imad Skoudarli converted a pass from Kader Diop into the game’s only goal. Mo Nyass made five saves for the Gators (4-2-1).

St. Mary’s 4, Park 0: The Saints (7-0-1, 3-0 MIAA B Conference) employed a balanced offense in the win. Than Souza, Landon Ross, Charlie Roy and Ernesto Contreras all scored goals. Assists came from Ross, JD Licameli and Shawn Nixon.

Field hockey

Reservoir 1, Howard 0 OT: The Gators (4-3) earned the overtime win as Molly Waggoner scored her first varsity goal for the game-winner as Abbie Frisvold delivered the assist.

Centennial 1, Marriotts Ridge 0: The Eagles (7-1) pitched another shutout as Jane Baldy made 10 saves in the win. Claire Whipkey scored the goal, while Caroline Cudzilo delivered the assist.

Mercy 3, North Harford 1: The Hawks’ lone goal came courtesy of Mollie Fialcowitz off an assist from Lola Barnaba.

John Carroll 5, Fallston 0: In the Patriots’ shutout win, Annie Minoglio had two goals. Other goals were scored by Leah Foltyn, Addie Biscoe and Sammi Bender.

Hereford 3, Westminster 1: Caitlin Meeker scored twice for the Bulls and Linley Morrow added a goal. Westminster’s goal came from Stevie Shultz off a Gabi Thomas assist. Natalie Schultz made nine saves in goal.

Mt. Hebron 2, Long Reach 1 OT: The Vikings (6-1) defeated the Lightning in overtime as Annabelle Kazanas scored the game-winning goal, assisted by Maddie Casto. Anna Lindner also scored for Mt. Hebron. For Long Reach (6-2), Leilani Stewart scored.

Volleyball

Howard 3, River Hill 0: The Lions (7-0, 4-0 Sierra Division) continued their strong start to the year with a 25-12, 25-14, 25-21 sweep of the Hawks. McKenna Brown, Kaleigh Williams and Jackie Klugh each had six kills, while Brown added 15 digs and Williams chipped in three blocks. Imagine Peltier contributed in a variety of ways with 26 assists, nine digs, three aces and two kills. Miranda Ball added 11 digs.

John Carroll 3, Fallston 1: The Patriots topped the Cougars, 25-16, 25-17, 18-25, 25-15. For Fallston, Sam Ruth and Sloane Mister each had three aces. Ruth added 11 assists and Mister had 13 digs. Natalie Gross led with four kills and three blocks.

Patterson Mill 3, Rising Sun 0: Harlon Jones and Sophia Lopano each put down eight kills in a 25-12, 25-21, 25-14 win over the Tigers. Lopano added four aces and 13 digs. Rylie Madsen had five kills and two blocks, while Anna Elliot added five kills, three aces and five digs.

Golf

Dulaney 151 Lansdowne 257: The Lions got another strong all-around effort, beating the Vikings by 106 strokes. Quinn Collins shot a 35 to lead the win. He was backed by Spencer Morris with a 37 and Ryan Dannenfelser with a 38.

Manchester Valley 154, Francis Scott Key 188: The Mavericks’ Adam Slivosky shot an even-par 36, while Matt Slivosky and Gavin Reid each shot 39 to lead the win. FSK was led by Chase Harding’s 43.
