Jackson Holliday’s rookie season didn’t go as expected, but that isn’t slowing down the hype.
The 20-year-old Orioles infielder on Friday was announced as the cover star for the 2024 Topps baseball card Chrome Update set.
The set will be available Nov. 13 and will feature debut patch autograph cards for more than 150 rookies and sophomores who made their MLB debuts between June 1, 2023, and May 24, 2024.
In addition to Holliday, Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser, an American League Rookie of the Year hopeful, is featured in the set. Holliday followed Adley Rutschman as a No. 1 overall prospect in baseball, and now the second baseman will join the catcher as Topps cover stars. Rutschman was featured on the 2023 Topps Chrome Baseball set.
The 2024 pack also includes MLB debut patches for National League Rookie of the Year candidates Paul Skenes (Pittsburgh Pirates), Severna Park native Jackson Merrill (San Diego Padres), Jackson Chourio (Milwaukee Brewers) and many of the other top youngsters in baseball.
The price for the box, which includes 24 packs and four cards per pack, is $149.99.

The debut patches began in 2023 in collaboration with MLB. In their debuts, players wear a uniform patch, which is removed after the game, authenticated and inserted into one-of-one autographed rookie cards. Holliday made his MLB debut April 10 at Fenway Park in Boston.
Holliday struggled in his first taste of the big leagues, but he rejoined the team in late July and was a regular for much of the final two months. While he ended the year with a .189 batting average, the 20-year-old still flashed the upside that made him one of the best prospects this century and is expected to enter 2025 as the Orioles’ starting second baseman.
