Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Friday, Nov. 1.

Football

Arundel 43, Annapolis 6: TJ Mordecai rushed for three touchdowns and 110 yards as the Wildcats finished the regular season 8-1. Ahmir Lowery threw for 113 yards and touchdowns to Darius Burton (30-yard pass) and Jacob Dy (66-yard pass), as well as rushing one in himself. Lowery led all rushers with 113 yards. Brandon Feinblatt kicked a 31-yard field goal as well. Andre Younger had an interception for Arundel, too. For Annapolis (7-2), Darrian Carter threw a 70-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Old Mill 32, Meade 27: Tahzay Brown collected 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns to lead Old Mill. Trey Martini tossed four touchdown passes and tallied 269 yards, while Jaylon Toles and Makel Wilder each caught a touchdown. Banny Matheu booted two field goals as well. In the Mustangs’ loss, quarterback Alijah Johnson threw 9-for-24 for 155 yards and a touchdown. Running back Kameryn Henry had 34 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown, while receiver Jeffrey King made five receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown.

Southern 28, Chesapeake 23: Brett Apperson and Isaiah Crampton caught touchdowns for the victorious Bulldogs (4-5). Sam Young and LJ Evans added rushing touchdowns.

Broadneck 56, Severn Run 0: Ian Mauldin set a new program career touchdowns record (54) after scoring three for the Bruins (8-1), eclipsing Ethon Williams. Joey Smargissi, Mari Hayes, CJ Watkins, Aaron Foote and Carson Pierce.

South Carroll 10, Francis Scott Key 7: The Cavaliers closed their regular season with a win. Anthony Rodrigues threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Landon Hamper on the first play of the game. Cannon Hunter later added a 28-yard field goal. Defensively, Hamper, Manny Rodrigues and Angelo Marchany each racked up nine tackles.

Girls soccer

Liberty 5, Perryville 0: Hannah DeVincent and Erin Martin each scored twice to lead the host Lions over the Panthers in Class 1A. DeVincent also had an assist. Other standouts for Liberty included Bryce Sarver (goal), Aver Asom (2 assists), Mady Smith (3 saves) and Maeve Reese (6 saves).

Sparrows Point 9, Lackey 1: The defending 2A state champion Pointers make it back to the semifinals after the blowout win led by Ami Walters’ big night. The junior netted a hat track and assisted on two more goals. Allysa Hartman scored twice and assisted on two other goals. Gianna Orsino, Allison Crowe, Chelsea Stubel and Lilah Kern also tallied goals with Orsino, Stubel and Lacey Schleig getting assists.

Boys soccer

Montgomery Blair 4, Broadneck 2: Julian Reyes Rubio had a goal and an assist to lead the host Blazers over the Bruins in Class 4A state quarterfinal. Brodneck got a goal each from TJ Remson and Wilson Banwell.

Harford Tech 5, Perryville 0: The defending state champion Cobras are back in the semifinals. Brody Smith scored twice in the win, while Aiden Warren added a goal and an assist. Colby Golding and Zach Lane also hit the back of the net and Reese Topfer chipped in an assist.

Liberty 5, International HS at Largo 0: Lucas Britos had a hat trick to lead the Lions in their 1A quarterfinal win. Austen Veach and Nate Frey also scored. Connor Clapper handed out three assists, while Frey and Veach also sent off helpers. Jaxon Vanderhoof, Arjun Singh and Zach Herb all shared time in net to combine for the shutout.

Field hockey

Crofton 5, Urbana 0: The defending 4A state champs got two goals each from Laili Afzal and Sophia Galarza to earn a return trip to the state semifinal. Jackie Kerner also scored a goal and Olivia Feeley handed out three assists. Ryleigh Osborne made five saves to earn the shutout.

Fallston 4, Sparrows Point 0: Layla King recorded a hat trick as the Cougars shut out the Pointers in a 1A quarterfinal. Ava Moffett also scored a goal and Olivia Parker had an assist. In goal, Auggie McCarthy made five saves and Avery Lane had six.

Broadneck 10, Montgomery Blair 0: Abbie Morris had a hat trick and the host Bruins shut out the Blazers in Class 4A.  Faith Everett had a goal and two assists and Cate Imber scored twice for Broadneck. The Bruins advance to the state semifinals and will play Winston Churchill on Thursday.

Volleyball

C. Milton Wright 3, Rising Sun 0: The Mustangs swept the Tigers in a 2A East Region I semifinal, 25-10, 25-12, 25-13. Ana Mioduski totaled 12 aces and seven kills to lead the win. Maddie Duffalo also put down seven kills and Olivia Kobb added six. Jenna Ritz tossed up 19 assists and Grace Boseck chipped in three kills and three blocks.

Bel Air 3, Edgewood 0: The host Bobcats beat the Rams in a Class 3A regional semifinal. Bel Air won, 25-14, 25-14, 25-12.

Fallston 3, North Harford 0: The visiting Cougars beat the Hawks in Class 2A. Fallston won, 25-21, 25-18, 25-16. Fallston was led by Emma Chasan (13 assists, 5 digs, 4 aces, 1 kil), Kerri Chandler (6 kills, 1 assist), Sloane Mister (8 kills, 4 digs, 4 aces), Mary Pfaff (5 digs, 1 ace), Brenna Voelker (2 kills, 2 blocks) and Emma Nigro (3 digs, 3 aces).

Patterson Mill 3, Joppatowne 0: The Huskies swept the Mariners in their region semifinal, 25-9, 25-10, 25-11. Sophie Lopano led with a double-double of 11 kills and 17 digs. Zoe Valan totaled 30 assists, six aces and four kills. Anna Elliott chipped in five kills and three aces, Harlon Jones put down nine kills and Addison Plourde picked up 12 digs.

Broadneck 3, Annapolis 0: The host Bruins beat the Panthers in Class 4A. Broadneck won, 25-17, 25-12, 25-16.

Middletown 3, Century 1: Host Middletown beat Century in Class 2A. Middletown won, 30-28, 25-16, 19-25, 25-23. For Century, Gabby Zajaczkowski lined 12 kills and Hannah Heffernan had seven. Stephanie Villanueva set up 13 assists and Reese Gordon 12. Corinne Zepp and Hannah Panzer each had nine digs.

Carver A&T 3, Forest Park 0: The visiting Wildcats beat the Foresters in Class 1A. Carver A&T won, 25-13, 25-15, 27-25.

Howard 3, Atholton 0: The host Lions beat the Raiders in Class 3A. Howard won. 25-13, 25-11, 25-18. Howard was led by McKenna Brown (14 kills, 11 digs),Mariska Ordonez (8 kills), Kaliegh Williams (7 kills, 4 blocks. 6 digs), Miranda Ball (24 digs, 2 aces) and Imagine Peltier (29 assists, 4 digs, 2 blocks).

Glenelg 3, Marriotts Ridge 1: The Gladiators defeated the Mustangs to advance to the Class 3A South Region I final. For Marriotts Ridge, Katy Harbaugh had a team-high 13 kills, also adding seven blocks. Kelly Swenson had 10 kills and nine digs, while Ella Miller had nine kills. Grace Lei had 28 digs, while Audrey Lee added 15 digs. Eva Hull led the team with 24 assists and 13 digs.

Reservoir 3, Northwestern 0: The Gators swept Northwestern in Class 4A 25-6, 25-10, 25-10. Reservoir dominated at the service line with 31 aces, led by seven from Tiana Copp and five from Riley Ko. Angela Lei finished with a team-high six kills, while Chloe Chau, Christina San and Marin Esch each had five. Lillian Sanchez guided the offense with 18 assists.
