Here’s the weekly roundup of state college lacrosse games.

Division I men

No. 4 Maryland 8, Loyola Maryland 7: Matthew Keegan scored the game-winner in overtime after the Terps rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the host Greyhounds on Saturday.

Maryland (2-0) entered the final period trailing 5-2 after being held scoreless in the third quarter. But the Terps scored four straight goals — including three from Eric Spanos — to take a 6-5 lead midway through the frame. Remi Reynolds (Gilman) scored to pull Loyola (0-2) back even, but Daniel Kelly (Calvert Hall) answered two minutes later to put Maryland back on top, 7-6, with 3:11 to go.

It appeared that the Terps would be able to seal the victory in regulation after calling timeout with eight seconds left to set up their defense, but Loyola’s Kenan Everhart scored on a turnaround shot with just two seconds left to force overtime. Keegan then scored with 2:56 remaining in the extra period to secure the Terps’ 24th win in 27 all-time meetings against the Greyhounds.

Maryland held Loyola scoreless for the first 18:27 of the game but still entered halftime trailing 4-2. Loyola’s Max Watkinson finished with 11 saves and Logan McNaney stopped 10 shots for Maryland in a defensive battle. Shea Keethler and Sean Creter combined to win 12 of 17 faceoffs for the Terps, who host No. 2 Syracuse next Saturday in College Park.

Spanos finished with four goals for his sixth career hat trick, while Kelly scored twice and Zach Whittier recorded two assists for Maryland. Everhart scored twice and Matthew Minicus and Luke Murphy each added a goal and an assist for Loyola, which hosts No. 8 Johns Hopkins next Saturday.

But LIU (1-1) scored five straight goals to make it 11-9, pulled even at 12 on a man-up goal by Aiden Zuhoski late in the third quarter and took the lead for good with less than a minute left in the frame.
