Here’s the weekly roundup of state college lacrosse games.
Division I men
No. 1 Maryland 12, No. 18 Virginia 6: The Terps (7-0) opened the game with a 5-0 run and beat the host Cavaliers (3-4) on Saturday to become the third program to secure 900 wins, joining Johns Hopkins and Syracuse.
Five Terps scored multiple goals, including Eric Spanos (2 goals, 1 assist), Elijah Stobaugh (2 goals), Matthew Keegan (2 goals), Bryce Ford (2 goals, 1 assist) and Braden Erksa (2 goals). Logan McNaney made 13 saves. Shea Keethler (nine wins) and Creter (three wins) combined to 12 of 21 on faceoffs.
Virginia responded with four straight goals while keeping the Terps scoreless in the second quarter, but Maryland outscored Virginia 7-2 in the second half to secure the win. This is the sixth time this season that the Terps have held an opponent under 10 goals.
UMBC 10, Vermont 7: Jordan Galloway scored a natural hat trick to help the Retrievers (3-3, 1-0 America East) take an early 5-0 lead in a win over the visiting Catamounts (2-4, 0-1) on Saturday. Galloway added two assists, Nick Gutierrez added four assists and Connor Chick and Xander Maxwell each scored two goals for UMBC, which ended a two-game losing streak.

Towson 19, Delaware 18, OT: Ronan Fitzpatrick scored the game-tying goal with 29 seconds left in regulation and Mikey Weisshaar (Spalding) scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the host Tigers (2-5, 1-0 CAA) to a thrilling comeback win over the Blue Hens (3-3, 0-1) on Saturday. Towson trailed 16-13 early in the fourth quarter before taking the lead and fell behind 18-17 with 43 seconds left before Fitzpatrick scored. Fitzpatrick and Weisshaar each scored six goals on a combined 29 shots and Luke Downs (Calvert Hall) made 15 saves for Towson.
Boston University 13, Loyola Maryland 7: The host Terriers (6-1, 2-1 Patriot League) used a 7-0 run between the second and third quarters to turn a 3-1 advantage into a 10-1 lead to beat the Greyhounds (0-7, 0-2) on Saturday. Kenan Everhart scored two goals and Brady Quinn had a goal and an assist for Loyola.
Manhattan 13, Mount St. Mary’s 11: The host Jaspers (4-3, 2-0 MAAC) scored four straight goals to turn an 8-7 deficit into an 11-8 lead and held off the Mountaineers (2-6, 0-2) on Saturday. Carter Quested had five goals and an assist and Brody Atkinson tallied two goal and two assists to lead Mount St. Mary’s.
Syracuse 13, Johns Hopkins 10: Charlie Iler completed his hat trick to tie the score at 10 with less than seven minutes left to play for the Blue Jays (5-2), but the host Orange (5-2) answered with a 3-0 run to win last Sunday. Owen Hiltz had a goal and an assist during the run and finished with a game-high four goals for Hopkins.
Division II men
Frostburg State 10, D’Youville 3: Luke Roach scored three goals and Wesley Phillips added a goal and three assists to lead the host Bobcats (3-3) over the Saints (4-5) on Saturday.
Wilmington (Dela.) 9, Frostburg State 7: Logan Covey (Essex CC/Westminster) made a career-high 24 saves, a single-game school record, but the Bobcats fell to the Wildcats (1-3) at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field on Wednesday. Baylor Davis (Hereford) scored twice for Frostburg State.
Division III men
Washington College 15, Chatham 8: The host Shoremen (6-2) sprinted to a 12-0 lead and held off a late charge by the Cougars (4-4) on Saturday. Cory Morgan (3 goals, 1 assist), Cam Carrigan (2 goals, 1 assist) and Grant Matthews (2 goals, 1 assist) led Washington College.
Hood 18, Wilkes 3: Robbie Wiley scored five goals, Isiac Nafziger had six assists and David Lubrano added a hat trick to lead the visiting Blazers (5-0) to a dominant win over the Colonels (2-5) on Saturday.
St. Mary’s 17, Vassar 7: After falling behind 4-3, the host Seahawks (5-3) scored seven straight goals to pull away for a victory over the Brewers (4-2) on Saturday. Aiden Doyle scored eight goals, Keegan Preis added three goals and four assists and Declan Horton completed a hat trick for St. Mary’s.
Hood 15, Husson 11: The host Blazers (4-0) opened with a 9-0 run and never trailed the Eagles (4-3) on Friday. Rio Muldoon had a hat trick for Hood.
Stevenson 14, Lynchburg 8: The host Mustangs (5-2) used a 7-0 run in the second half to pull ahead of the Hornets (2-3) in the Mustang Classic on Friday. Darrell Curtis and Max Racich each scored three goals for Stevenson.
St. Mary’s 26, Messiah 10: The visiting Seahawks (4-3) used an 8-0 run in the second half to surge past the Falcons (1-5) on Wednesday. St. Mary’s was led by Aiden Doyle (Broadneck) with a game-high six goals, Jake Levey (Marriotts Ridge) with five and Declan Horton with four.
Washington College 8, Skidmore 6: The host Shoremen (5-2) broke a 3-3 tie with a 4-2 run in the third quarter and beat the Thoroughbreds (2-3) on Wednesday. Washington College was led by Cam Carrigan (John Carroll) with three goals and Ben Dickinson with two goals and Colin Gray (Broadneck) made 13 saves.
Salisbury 15, Ohio Wesleyan 8: The host Sea Gulls (7-0) went on a 6-0 run in the first half to pull ahead of the Battling Bishops (3-3) on Tuesday. Salisbury was led by Riley Strub with six goals and Ryan Della (Broadneck) with four.
McDaniel 13, Immaculata 8: The visiting Green Terror (3-4) went on a 3-0 run in the first half to take control and beat The Mighty Macs (3-4) on Tuesday. McDaniel got three goals from Carter Youtz, Jason Fritz and Will Beacham.
Goucher 13, New England College 6: The host Gophers (5-2) opened with a 3-0 run and never trailed the Pilgrims (3-1) on Tuesday. Gianni Karam scored a game-high eight goals and Jack Smith made nine saves.
Division I women
No. 24 Navy 19, Colgate 9: Emily Messinese and Alyssa Chung each scored five goals to lead the host Mids (6-3, 1-0 Patriot League) over the Raiders (3-5, 0-2) on Saturday. Emma Kennedy and Mikayla Williams each scored two goals and Ava Yovino chipped in three assists for Navy, which ended a two-game losing streak.
No. 15 Loyola Maryland 16, Army 6: Chase Boyle and Elisa Faklaris each scored four goals to lead the host Greyhounds (5-4, 2-0 Patriot League) to a bounce-back win over the Black Knights (5-2, 1-1) on Saturday. Georgia Latch finished with three goals and three assists and Emma Talago added two goals and two assists for Loyola.
UMBC 17, Bryant 9: The host Retrievers (8-1, 1-0 America East) went on a 7-0 run in the second half to surge past the Bulldogs (5-4, 0-1) on Friday. Grace Bruce (Century) scored three of her game-high five goals during the run. Other standouts for UMBC included Libby Staples (4 goals, 2 assists), Katana Nelson (4 goals) and Emily Knapp (Maryvale; 2 goals).
No. 5 Maryland 19, Penn State 11: The Terps (5-1, 1-0 Big 10) used two runs, 6-0 and 7-0, to surge past the Nittany Lions (2-6, 0-1) on Thursday. The Terps were led by Jordyn Lipkin (4 goals, 1 assist), Kori Edmondson (McDonogh; 3 goals, 2 assists), Shelby Sullivan (C. Milton Wright; 3 goals) and Maisy Clevenger (Marriotts Ridge; 2 goals, 2 assists). JJ Suriano (Bryn Mawr) made 11 saves for Maryland.
No. 10 Florida 14, No. 24 Navy 13: The host Gators (4-2) erased a two-goal deficit with a 3-0 run late in the game to beat the Mids (5-2) on Wednesday. Frannie Hahn (St. Paul’s) assisted on all three goals and finished with a game-high eight assists. Navy was led by Alyssa Chung (Severna Park) with a game-high four goals and Mikayla Williams with three.
No. 18 Penn 12, No. 15 Loyola Maryland 10: Anna Brandt (Hereford) scored a game-high five goals and the Quakers (4-2) upset the host Greyhounds on Wednesday. The loss halted the Greyhounds’ 22-game home winning streak that dated to the 2023 season. Lauren Spence made 10 saves, and Georgia Latch scored two of her three goals during a 3-0 rally by Loyola in the fourth quarter.
No. 7 Johns Hopkins 14, No. 6 Syracuse 13, OT: MK Lescault scored the game-winner with 4:50 left in overtime to lift the Blue Jays (5-2) over the Orange (4-4) on Monday. Emma Muchnick scored the tying goal for Syracuse with 12 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Johns Hopkins was led by Ava Angello (6 goals) and Ashley Mackin (4 goals).
Mount St. Mary’s 9, Old Dominion 8: Camille Thomas made 10 saves and the host Mount (4-3) held off a late rally by the Monarchs (6-3) to win last Sunday. Anna Salerno (Patterson Mill) scored her second goal to give Mount St. Mary’s a 9-5 lead before Old Dominion went on a 3-0 run over the final 13 minutes.
UMBC 13, Furman 11: Katana Nelson scored a career-high six goals to lead the host Retrievers (7-1) over the Paladins (5-1) last Sunday. Freshmen Tess Curtis (Garrison Forest) scored the go-ahead to break a 10-10 tie and Nelson scored the next two goals during the 3-0 run late in the game.
Division II women
Loch Haven 9, Frostburg State 7: Neila Haney scored five goals, but it wasn’t enough for the visiting Bobcats (3-5) in a loss to the Bald Eagles (3-5) on Saturday. Frostburg State took a 4-3 lead in the second quarter but allowed five straight goals and couldn’t catch up in suffering a fourth straight defeat.
Shepherd 15, Frostburg State 6: Kelsey King (Concordia Prep) scored a game-high seven goals to lead the host Rams (4-2) over the Bobcats on Wednesday. Shepherd broke an early 1-1 tie and scored four straight goals to take control. Neila Haney had a hat trick and Nicole Gray made eight saves for Frostburg State.
Division III women
Salisbury 10, William Smith 6: The host Sea Gulls (4-2) scored five straight goals spanning the second and fourth quarters to pull away from the Herons (3-1) on Saturday. Julianna Ott scored four goals to lead Salisbury.
Alfred State 15, Notre Dame (Md.) 4: Cailyn Motta scored three goals and Yasmine Rhodes added one for the host Gators (0-6) in a loss to the Pioneers (1-2) on Saturday.
Rochester 14, Stevenson 9: The Yellowjackets (2-2) went on a 6-0 run in the fourth quarter in a come-from-behind win over the Mustangs (4-3) at US Lacrosse on Friday. Stevenson was led by Kara Yarusso and Olivia Galati, each with three goals and an assist, and Erin Steinberg (Towson) with two goals. Yarusso set a school record for career draw controls with 244.
Delaware Valley 18, Notre Dame (Maryland) 3: The visiting Aggies (3-2) opened with a 4-0 run and never trailed the Gators (0-5) on Thursday. Notre Dame got single goals from Emily Funez (Catholic), Cailyn Motta (Broadneck) and freshman Yasmine Rhodes.
Goucher 17, Wilson 9: The visiting Gophers (3-3) took an early 7-1 lead over the Phoenix (0-7) and cruised to the win on Wednesday. Goucher was led by Emily Burk (Perry Hall, 4 goals, 1 assist), Wrenn Harney (3 goals, 1 assist) and Tatiana Emeruwa (Chesapeake, 3 goals, 1 assist).
Rochester Institute of Technology 16, Stevenson 15: The visiting Tigers (4-1) went on a 3-0 run in the second half and held off the Mustangs (4-2) to win on Wednesday. Stevenson was led by Erin Steinberg (Towson) with a game-high five goals, Kara Yarusso with four goals and three assists and Kellyann Coccia (Harford Tech) and Isabelle VanEmburgh with two goals each.
Ohio Wesleyan 16, McDaniel 7: The Battling Bishops (5-2) took an 11-4 lead in the first half and beat the Green Terror (4-3) on Wednesday. Ohio Wesleyan is coached by former McDaniel lacrosse and field hockey player Paige Messersmith. The Green Terror got two goals and an assist each from Charlotte Alexander (Chesapeake-AA) and Kat Thayer (Reservoir).
Thiel 22, Notre Dame (Maryland) 3: Ariana Rodriguez gave the host Gators (0-4) an early 1-0 lead before the Tomcats (4-0) answered with a 4-0 run on Wednesday. Sarah Generoso (Catholic) scored twice and Leah Hasberry made 12 saves for Notre Dame.
Washington College 11, Widener 10: The Shorewomen (2-5) used a late rally to beat the Pride (1-4) in Clearwater, Florida, on Tuesday. Washington College went on a 3-0 run to take the lead, including two goals by Anna Wilson (Bryn Mawr) and the deciding goal by Tobin Chambers (Broadneck). Wilson finished with a game-high four goals and Piper Evans had three for the Shorewomen.
McDaniel 17, Illinois Wesleyan 3: The host Green Terror (4-2) opened with 8-0 run and beat the Titans (3-3) last Sunday. McDaniel was led by Charlotte Alexander (4 goals), Addison Utterback (4 goals), Paris Conord (3 goals, 2 assists) and Kat Thayer (Reservoir, 2 goals, 2 assists).
St. John Fisher 22, Washington College 12: The Cardinals (4-0) took a 10-3 lead and never trailed the Shorewomen (1-5) in Clearwater, Florida, last Sunday. Washington College was led by Mia Salvatierra (Fallston) with five goals and three assists and Tobin Chambers (Broadneck) with three goals.
