Here is the weekly roundup of state men and women’s college lacrosse games.
Division I men
No. 19 Michigan 12, No. 7 Maryland 11: Justin Tiernan scored the tying goal with 2:36 remaining and the go-ahead goal with 1:13 left to play and the host Wolverines (6-3, 1-0 Big Ten) upset the Terps (5-3, 0-1) on Saturday. Tiernan finished with a game-high five goals. Daniel Maltz had a hat trick and Braden Erksa had two goals for Maryland.
Navy 17, Holy Cross 7: The host Midshipmen (5-4, 2-1 Patriot League) stretched their one-goal lead by outscoring the Crusaders (2-6, 0-4), 11-3, in the second half Saturday. Max Hewitt had a hat trick and Henry Tolker (Loyola Blakefield) had two goals and two assists for Navy.
Towson 12, Fairfield 10: The visiting Tigers (6-3, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) broke an 8-8 tie with a 3-1 run in the third quarter and beat the Stags (4-5, 1-1) on Saturday. Mikey Weisshaar (Archbishop Spalding) had a hat trick for Towson.
UMBC 15, Merrimack 9: The visiting Retrievers (3-3, 2-0 America East) stretched the lead with a 4-0 run in the second quarter and beat the Warriors (3-6, 1-1) on Saturday. UMBC was led by Brian Tregoning (5 goals), Dane Hall (4 goals) and Jordan Galloway (3 goals).
Loyola Maryland 18, Lafayette 10: The visiting Greyhounds (3-6, 1-2 Patriot League) used a 4-0 run to retake the lead in the second quarter and beat the Leopards (4-4, 1-3) on Saturday. Loyola was led by Matthew Minicus (4 goals), Evan James (3 goals), Matt Heuston (3 goals) and Adam Poitras (3 goals).
Mount St. Mary’s 8, Wagner 7: Connor Barrett scored for an 8-6 lead with 3:10 remaining and the host Mountaineers (1-8, 1-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) held off the Seahawks (1-8, 1-2) on Saturday. Brody Atkinson (St. Paul’s) had three goals and Cormac Giblin had two for Mount St. Mary’s. Owen Peters made 11 saves for the Mount.
Villanova 14, Navy 7: The visiting Wildcats (5-3) used a 7-0 run to distance themselves from the Mids on Tuesday. Tommy Hovivian and Henry Tolker (Loyola Blakefield) each scored twice for Navy.
Division II men
Frostburg State 12, Molloy 11: Owen McCallum (Manchester Valley) scored the go-ahead goal with 1:58 left to play assisted by Chase Buckwalter (Westminster) to complete the comeback for the visiting Bobcats (6-2, 1-0 East Coast Conference) on Saturday.
Frostburg State 13, Wilmington (Del.) 12: The host Bobcats built a six-goal lead and held off a late rally by the Wildcats (2-3) to win Wednesday. Chase Buckwalter (Westminster) led all scorers with six goals for Frostburg State.
Division III men
Salisbury 18, Stevenson 8: The host Sea Gulls (8-0) broke a 5-5 tie with a 10-1 run in the third quarter and beat the Mustangs (3-5) on Saturday. Salisbury’s Luke Nestor scored a game-high six goals. Grant Zick scored twice for Stevenson.
Washington College 16, McDaniel 9: The visiting Shoremen (3-5, 1-0 Centennial Conference) opened with an 11-0 run and beat the Green Terror (7-2, 0-1) on Saturday. Garrison Connor scored a game-high five goals and Cam Carrigan (John Carroll) had three for Washington College. Carter Youtz had four goals for McDaniel.
Chatham 8, Hood 7: The host Cougars (5-4) trailed by one before scoring twice over the final 3 1/2 minutes to beat the Blazers (5-4) on Saturday. Connor Flok and Rio Muldoon each scored twice for Hood.
Elizabethtown 13, Goucher 4: The host Blue Jays (3-4, 1-0 Centennial) opened with a 6-0 run and beat the Gophers (6-3, 0-1) on Saturday. Jack Smith made 15 saves for Goucher.
McDaniel 11, Hood 7: The visiting Green Terror broke a 5-5 tie with a 6-2 run in the fourth quarter to beat the Blazers (5-4) on Wednesday. Carter Youtz and Jason Fritz each had a hat trick for the Green Terror. Robbie Wiley had a game-high four goals for Hood.
Washington College 16, Skidmore 15: Cam Carrigan (John Carroll) scored the game-winner assisted by Connor Garrison with 45 seconds left to lift the host Shoremen over the Thoroughbreds (8-1) on Sunday. Carrigan finished with a game-high four goals.
Division I women
No. 8 Loyola Maryland 11, Lehigh 5: The visiting Greyhounds (9-0, 4-0 Patriot) scored nine goals in the second quarter and beat the Mountain Hawks (5-3, 1-1) on Saturday. The game was called at the end of the third quarter because of inclement weather. Sydni Black and Georgia Latch each scored three goals for Loyola. Lauren Spence made five saves for the Greyhounds.
No. 18 Navy 20, Boston U. 9: The host Mids (8-2, 2-1 Patriot) used an 8-0 run in the first half and a 9-0 run that spanned both halves to rout the Terriers (4-4, 0-2) on Saturday. Emily Messinese (Gerstell) and Tori DiCarlo each scored four goals and Maggie DeFabio had three for Navy. Felicia Giglio made six saves for the Mids.
Iona 12, Mount St. Mary’s 7: Christina Haspert (Century) scored a game-high three goals, but the visiting Mount (2-6, 0-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) fell to the Gaels (6-2, 1-0) on Saturday.
UMBC 13, New Hampshire 8: The host Retrievers (6-4, 1-1 America East) opened with a 6-0 run and beat the Wildcats (2-7, 0-2) on Friday. UMBC was led by Grace Bruce (Century) with a game-high six goals and Katana Nelson with a hat trick.
Towson 13, Monmouth 9: The visiting Tigers (3-5, 1-1 Colonial Athletic Association) went on a 4-0 run to stretch their lead and beat the Hawks (4-5, 0-2) on Friday. Milana Zizakovic scored a game-high five goals and Katie Roszko had a hat trick for Towson.
No. 2 Maryland 13, Georgetown 7: The visiting Terps (8-1) went on a 6-0 run in the second half and beat the Hoyas (2-8) on Wednesday. Maryland was led by Hannah Leubecker with five goals and Kori Edmondson (McDonogh) had a hat trick.
No. 8 Loyola Maryland 17, No. 18 Navy 12: The host Greyhounds went on a 9-2 run in the second quarter to pull away from the Mids on Wednesday. Loyola was led by Sydni Black with five goals, Chase Boyle had four and Georgia Latch had three. Emily Messinese (Gerstell Academy) had four goals for Navy.
Division II women
Lander 18, Frostburg State 11: The host Bearcats (5-4) went on a 5-0 run in the first quarter and beat the Bobcats (4-5) on Thursday. Lander was led by Emmy Peterson and Mickey Burnett (Mercy) with four goals each. Emily Lamoreaux (Severna Park) had three goals for Frostburg State.
Flager 20, Frostburg State 10: Carly LaFerriere scored a game-high five goals to lead the host Saints (10-1) over the Bobcats on Tuesday. Flager built an 11-5 lead in the first half. Frostburg State was led by Kerri Hayes and Emily Lamoreaux (Severna Park) with three goals each.
Division III women
McDaniel 24, Bryn Mawr 6: The visiting Green Terror (7-3, 2-0 Centennial) scored 10 goals in the first quarter and held the Owls (0-7, 0-2) scoreless in the second quarter and third quarters Saturday. McDaniel was led by Emma Miller (Marriotts Ridge) with four goals, while Emma Legacy (St. Mary’s) and Charlotte Alexander (Chesapeake-AA) each scored three. Caleigh Kohr (C. Milton Wright) made six saves for the Green Terror.
St. Mary’s 21, Bryn Athyn 7: The host Seahawks (5-5, 1-0 United East) broke a 4-4 tie with a 7-1 run in the second quarter to pull away from the Lions (5-2, 0-1) on Saturday. Hailey Betch (Severna Park) scored a game-high six goals and MC Mortimer (Friends) had three for St. Mary’s.
Washington College 20, Ursinus 13: The Shorewomen (7-2, 1-0 Centennial) took a 12-6 lead in the first half and beat the Bears (4-4, 0-1) on Saturday. Anna Wilson (Bryn Mawr) scored five goals and Piper Evans and Tobin Chambers (Broadneck) each scored four for Washington College.
Hood 15, Russell Sage 4: The host Blazers (5-6) scored six goals in the first and third quarters and beat the Gators (4-4) on Saturday. Julia Gregory scored four goals and Mackenzie Demaio had three for Hood. Brooke Harper made eight saves for the Blazers.
Salisbury 19, Chicago 11: The Sea Gulls (7-2) scored four or more goals in each quarter and beat the Maroon (3-3) at Catholic on Saturday. Salisbury got three goals each from Grace Doyle, Lauren Hackett (Century) and Leah Vilvov.
Elizabethtown 12, Goucher 0: Sydney Lewis (Carver A&T) made 11 saves, but the host Gophers (2-6, 0-1 Landmark Conference) were shut out by the Blue Jays (4-4, 1-0) on Saturday.
Stevenson 20, SUNY-Maritime 10: The host Mustangs (5-4) opened with a 7-0 run and beat the Privateers (3-3) on Wednesday. Stevenson was led by Kara Yarusso (6 goals), Ava Treakle (3 goals), Isabelle VanEmburgh (3 goals) and Sophia Murray (3 goals).
McDaniel 14, Juniata 11: The visiting Green Terror opened with a 3-0 run and never trailed the Eagles (6-1) on Wednesday. McDaniel was led by Emma Miller (Marriotts Ridge) with five goals and Emma Legacy (St. Mary’s) with three.
Clarkson 18, Hood 13: The host Blazers took an early lead, but fell to the Golden Knights (6-1) on Wednesday. Madelynn Barnum scored a game-high six goals for Clarkson. Mackenzie Demaio had four goals for Hood.
Christopher Newport 20, St. Mary’s 8: The host Captains (7-2) took a 10-3 lead in the first half and beat the Seahawks on Wednesday. Madison Lane (Mercy) had a hat trick for St. Mary’s. Christopher Newport was led by Julia Iapicca with five goals, while Syd Guidi and Kelsey Winters (South River) each scored four.
William Smith 10, Salisbury 7: The Herons (5-0) broke a 6-6 tie with a 4-1 run in the fourth quarter to beat the Sea Gulls in Panama City, Florida, on Monday. Grace Doyle led Salisbury with two goals.
