Volleyball
Edgewood 3, Joppatowne 0: Samarra Brodbeck had five kills and Zyianna Rowlette had three aces to lead the visiting Rams over the Mariners. Edgewood won, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.
Fallston 3, Aberdeen 0: The Cougars swept the Eagles, 25-13, 25-19, 25-22. Sloane Mister slammed 14 kills in the win. She also had five digs and four aces. Natalie Gross and Brenna Voelker each had five kills and Voelker added four blocks. Sam Ruth had 21 assists and three aces and Emily Chasan served four aces.
C. Milton Wright 3, Perryville 0: Ana Mioduski, Olivia Kobb and Maddie Duffalo each totaled 10 kills in the Mustangs’ senior night win. Mioduski added four aces and eight digs, Kobb had all digs, and Duffalo had six assists. Jenna Ritz finished with 22 assists and four aces. Rachel Bolt picked up 13 digs.
Bel Air 3, Patterson Mill 1: Aubrie Faulkner and Anna Kane each had 11 kills and Lucy Griger and Olivia Mannion each had six kills to lead the visiting Bobcats over the Huskies. Bel Air won, 25-18, 13-25, 31-29, 25-20. Lucy Griger and Olivia Mannion each had six aces and Emma Duvall tossed up 40 assists. For Patterson Mill, Zoe Valan had 38 assists. Harlon Jones had 17 kills and Sophie Lopano had 16 to go with 20 digs.
Marriotts Ridge 3, Hammond 0: Kelly Swenson had four kills and Eva Hull had 11 assists to lead the host Mustangs over the Bears. Marriotts Ridge won, 25-9, 25-15, 25-11.
Howard 3, Guilford Park 0: McKenna Brown had nine kills and 15 digs and Miranda Ball had 10 digs and three aces to lead the host Lions over the Panthers. Howard won, 25-15, 25-17, 25-13.
Marriotts Ridge 3, Hammond 0: The Mustangs (3-7, 3-1 Summit Division) earned a key division win. Eva Hull had 11 assists, eight digs and two kills, while Katy Harbaugh led the offense with seven kills. Kelly Swenson added four kills, while Anoushka Rath and Grace Lei excelled at the service line with four and three aces, respectively.
Boys soccer
Carver A&T 4, Randallstown 1: Toby Skidmore scored two goals in the win, while Landen Gendimenico and Kayden Burns also scored. Jose Ramos handed out two assists.
John Carroll 1, Archbishop Spalding 0: The host Patriots (2-6-2, 2-6-2 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) shut out the Cavaliers (3-6-2, 3-6-1). Friday, John Carroll travels to Mount St. Joseph and Spalding hosts McDonogh.
Glenelg 2, Reservoir 1: Jackson Costell scored both goals for the Gladiators in the win. Glenelg (9-0-1, 5-0 Summit Division) clinched the Summit Division title with the win and a berth in the Howard County championship game.
Wilde Lake 5, Hammond 2: Jayden Rivera, Drew Hollida, Caiden Richard, Jackson Payne and Justin Uruboro each scored for the Wildecats in the win. Evan Figueroa keyed the offense with three assists, while Bryan Putnam added two. Wilde Lake (5-3-1) won its second game in a row.
Girls soccer
McDonogh 1, Mercy 0: Emma Patti scored off a feed from McKenzie Brown and the Eagles defense held their ground in a key Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference win. First- place McDonogh (9-3) improves to 4-0 in conference play, while Mercy (8-2) falls to 2-1.
Sparrows Point 2, Perry Hall 1: Ami Walters scored a goal and assisted Allysa Hartman on another as the Pointers held off the Gators. Lilah Kern also had an assist. Ally Foos secured the win, making seven saves in goal.
Long Reach 4, Oakland Mills 0: Katie Hoffman had a hat trick and Haley Ruddy had a goal to lead the visiting Lightning past the Scorpions.
Glenelg 3, Reservoir 2: Mary Elizabeth Ferrick had a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Gladiators over the Gators. Dara Akinsanya scored twice for Reservoir. Glenelg goalie Addy Tracy and Gators goalie Blythe Pietryka each made seven saves.
Atholton 1, Marriotts Ridge 1: The Raiders (5-2-3) and Mustangs (5-3-1) drew after 100 minutes of play. Atholton’s goal was scored by Gisaiah Griffin, while Abby Lieberman scored for Marriotts Ridge.
C. Milton Wright 4, Fallston 0: The Mustangs broke the game open after leading just 1-0 at halftime. Lilly Budelis scored in the first half off an assist from Mackenzi Milich. Second-half goals came from Mackenzie Pavlitsa, Carley Jehnert and Delainey Proctor, who also had an assist. Emma Jankowiak also had an assist. Alix Bramble made seven saves.
Patterson Mill 2, Harford Tech 1: Both Huskies goals came in the first half on a Cobra own-goal and 25-yard strike from Abbie Wysong. Dani Korczak scored in the final five minutes for Tech. In goal, Ella Shriner made 10 saves for Patterson Mill. Tech split the game with Faith Orsini making nine saves and Emily Swenson making eight.
Field hockey
Crofton 10, Severn Run 0: The Cardinals shut out the Wolves. Crofton got a goal each from Olivia Feeley, Jackie Kerner, Bree Riggs, Hailee Humphrey, Laili Afzal, Grace Kerley, Ava Mararac, Zoey Mautino, Carly Mathieu, Mary-Cate Parks.
Chesapeake-AA 7, Northeast 0: Caitin Wolff had a hat trick and Austin McFarland had a goal and two assists and the host Cougars shut out the Eagles.
Spalding 2, Stone Ridge 0: Stella Bumgarner and Paige Sanborn struck goals for the Cavaliers in the first half, both assisted by Skylar Gilman. Ainsley Pearce made three saves for Spalding.
Franklin 4, Catonsville 3: The Indians edged out the Comets in overtime. Catonsville picked up goals from Clara Nelsen, Jade Pannuty and Sabrina Xu in the game. Xu’s goal in the third corner tied the game and helped force the extra session.
Golf
Reservoir boys 79, Glenelg 72: Jack Holmes scored a season-high 24 points for the Gators in the win as all four Reservoir players finished with at least 18 points. For Glenelg, Clark Sharbaugh had a match-high 26 points.
Glenelg girls 48, Reservoir 2: Samadhi Tennakoon had 22 points to lead the Gladiators girls in a dominant victory.
